Over at Express Publishing’s Web Department Nico Haitas who formed part of the development and design team of the new Fairyland Microsite have just received another industry recognition award this time from Hot CSS Design. This is our 4th award for Express Publishing’s various websites to date.

What is Fairyland?

It is a FREE English as a Foreign Language micro site for teenagers, complete with downloads, screensavers, animations, picture cut outs, going green (learning how to be eco-friendly) etc. It is also a FREE resource for teachers of the course as it has many useful resources for them to download and use directly in the classroom such as the automated Fairyland certificate the animated Poppet’s Puppet theatre and more.

Why is this important?

Well educational websites are usually very drab and boring, with Fairyland (which can be found here… http://www.expresspublishing.co.uk/elt/fairyland/ ) we have managed to break this stereotyping and come up with a fresh exciting design which is finally made it into a design and code excellence recognition site Hot CSS Design.

Furthermore the site’s handmade code is completely accessible to all, has been tested for colour vision impairment and is super easy to navigate and use meaning a further attraction for the awards. Not forgetting that it has been tested and works in IE6, IE7, IE8, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Flock and Chrome, phew what a mouthful.

What can you do to help?

Please go to Hot CSS Design (which can be found here… http://hotcssdesign.com/1531-fairyland.html ) and give Fairyland a star rating or you may be a superstar and write your comments for the site’s coding and design. No need to be a specialist to write a comment, but please, you do need to be honest. We use these comments to further improve our site design and development in the future, so that the interfaces may be friendlier and easier to use.

Thank you all in advance!
